Make special note of this intersection, do not turn left here on your return, continue straight to the finish. Follow the road and the yellow blazes until you cross the pipeline the second time (the first time was on the small wooden bridge on the first uphill) then turn RIGHT onto the pipeline continuing to follow the yellow blazes. Follow the pipeline and the yellow blazes to the top of Second Mt. and about a third of the way down the other side.

Follow it to the top of the mountain where it rejoins the yellow blazed Horse-Shoe Trail.

TURN RIGHT ONTO THE YELLOW BLAZED HORSE-SHOE TRAIL. TURN WILL BE MARKED WITH BLUE FLOUR OR BLUE RIBBON.

FOLLOW THE YELLOW BLAZES FOR THE NEXT 3 TO 4 MILES

When the road becomes rocky and steeply downhill look for the yellow blazes to turn LEFT onto a single-track trail. TURN WILL BE MARKED WITH BLUE FLOUR OR BLUE RIBBON. Follow this trail across a small boulder field then to the top of Stony Mt. where the HST terminates with the white blazed AT.

TURN LEFT AND FOLLOW THE WHITE BLAZED A.T. FOR THE NEXT 3.2 MILES. THE TURN WILL BE MARKED WITH BLUE FLOUR OR BLUE RIBBON

FOLLOW THE BLUE BLAZED W.T.T. FOR THE NEXT 3 MILES

Turn around and retrace your steps for 50 yards or so then turn RIGHT onto the blue blazed WTT. TURN WILL BE MARKED WITH BLUE FLOUR OR BLUE RIBBON. Follow the blue blazes for approx. one and a half miles. You will come to a clearing where a logging road goes left and uphill, DO NOT TURN HERE continue on for about two hundred yards then turn left onto a blue blazed single track trail. TURN WILL BE MARKED WITH BLUE FLOUR OR BLUE RIBBON. Continue on to the top of Third Mt. where the trail intersects the yellow blazed HST.

TURN RIGHT ONTO THE YELLOW BLAZED H.S.T. TURN WILL BE MARKED WITH BLUE FLOUR OR BLUE RIBBON. STAY ON THE YELLOW BLAZED HORSE-SHOE TRAIL FOR APPROX. 7 MILES TO THE FINISH.

Turn LEFT onto the gravel road, turn will not be flagged, in about ¼ mile follow the yellow blazes to the RIGHT down the hill to the site of the former cable bridge. Wade across the creek, find the yellow blazes and follow them to the top of Second Mountain The last two miles are the same trail as the first two.

REMEMBER WHERE THE YELLOW BLAZES STARTED AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR ADVENTURE? DO NOT TURN LEFT THERE. CONTINUE STRAIGHT TO FINISH.
