Central Market /Red Rose Runs

Downtown Lancaster

December 24, 2008

9:00 AM

Meet at the Central Market, the nations oldest continuously operated farmers market. Begin by running the Red Rose Run 5 mile course. The Red Rose 5 mile run is one of Lancaster oldest continuous road races. The course is a lollipop loop type course with challenging hills and good straight-aways. Looking for more mileage? Do the Race Against Racism course b4 or after.

Looking to do something after your run? Why go home just yet, the TV will still be there- buy a tivo, let the dog wait a little longer. Go to the market after to relax, enjoy a cup of good morning America, get some supplies for the coming week, meet friends, or have lunch at one of Lancaster's many downtown eateries or do all of the above.

The city offers free parking at the Prince Street garage if you purchase something of nominal value at the market - be sure to have your parking ticket handy for the little label they stick on the back. Even so, parking (if chosen in garage) is like 75 cents an hour, try finding a comparable rate in Boston or the Big Apple.
